What To Expect

  • When you walk through the doors of our church building, you will encounter our church, the people of God. We are a growing community of young and old, well-off and not-so-well-off, singles and families, college students and retirees, reaching out for Jesus.

When you walk through the doors of our church building on Sunday morning you will encounter our greeters. They are there to warmly welcome you, to answer any questions you may have and to assist you in finding whatever you may need before, during and after our worship gathering. Our worship gatherings take place at 10:00 a.m.  We have Small Groups on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m.

When you walk through the doors of our sanctuary (which happens to be on the 2nd floor of our church building) for our worship gathering, you will encounter Convergence Worship. Our worship incorporates the mystery and transcendence of the ancient, the centrality of the Word of the Protestant tradition, the passionate gospel singing of the Evangelical tradition and the intimacy and relational focus found in the contemporary tradition. While our worship style is not fixed week to week, the content of our worship is. The content of our worship is the Gospel. We proclaim the gospel through our worship by celebrating God’s Mighty deeds of salvation culminating in Jesus Christ. Through our worship we are moved from our dislocation and relocated in God’s story. We invite you toreach out for Jesus with us in worship.

When your children walk through the doors of our church building, we encourage them to take advantage of our children’s ministries. We provide infant and toddler care during our worship gathering and small groups. Children in preschool through 5th grade are invited to participate in worship, including the children’s message. Following the children’s message, they are invited to participate in“Kids for Christ” for the remainder of the service. No matter the age of your little one, we are able to  provide safe and  secure children’s ministry designed just for them.

When your teens walk through the doors of our church building, we  encourage them to become active members in the whole life of our  faith community. At BCWC we do not believe youth ministry is just  the  job of our “Director of Student Ministry,” it is all of our jobs.  We seek to  help youth connect through times of fellowship, fun  and study. In  addition we connect each youth with a spiritually  mature adult  mentor. Lastly, we encourage youth to serve in a  ministry area based  upon their interests and gifts. Through these  relationships, we believe  youth will grow to know God and live out  the call of God in their lives.

When you walk through the doors and encounter our faith  community;  we hope you will encounter people who exist not for  themselves, but  for others, people reaching out for Jesus. For in  the words of Dietrich  Bonhoeffer, “The first task given to those who belong to the church of  God is not to be something for themselves, for example, by creating a  religious organization or leading a pious life, but to be witnesses of Jesus Christ to the world.” Our mission is to be witnesses of Jesus, reaching out for him, proclaiming the good news of God’s love to all of creation. We invite you to reach out for Jesus in response to his reaching out for us, for the world.
