I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to this Sunday.  During our morning worship service, our Christian Education Board will lead us in celebrating our discipleship ministries.  We will also celebrate communion this Sunday.  Also, if you have not already brought something in that is symbolic of a flourishing life or reminds you of a time in your life that you really flourished, please do so this Sunday.  After worship we’ll have an opportunity to fellowship with one another at Hoopes Park at our annual Church Picnic and what you bring in might serve as a good conversation item with someone you don’t know very well.

Have you ever thought about the purpose of being a part of a small group, Bible Study or Christian Education Class?  Have you ever thought about the importance of joining with one another in fellowship at a community park?  Have you ever thought about the importance of sharing the story of your spiritual journey with others?

Our Scripture for Sunday from Romans 12:1-2 offers us two reasons.  The first reason is so that we can present our whole selves to God.  The second reason is so that we can be transformed instead of being conformed into the ways of this world.  We’ll unpack these two verses in our meditation this Sunday.

See you on Sunday,

Pastor Dave
