Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,

I hope this email finds you well and I look forward to seeing everyone this coming Sunday.  There are a number of celebrations happening this Sunday during our worship service and following.

First, we will celebrate this past year of Christian Education.  Of particular interest to me is hearing from our children via a video what they have learned this past year.  In addition to this, we will have an opportunity to recognize those who have partnered in the ministry of Christian Education.  One of our core values is Christ Centered Living.  The only way to live that core value is to know who Jesus was and what Jesus was about.  One way we are able to do that at BCWC is through our Christian Education Ministry.

Second, this Sunday we will celebrate as we welcome Jim and Joyce Humphrey as new members and partners in our shared ministry and mission.  Their daughter Chesney was baptized a few weeks ago.  If you haven’t had a chance to meet Jim and Joyce or their daughters, be sure to extend a celebratory welcome on Sunday.

Third, as this coming Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, we will celebrate communion together.  During communion we will be lifting up some of the themes of our One Great Hour of Sharing Offering.  Through One Great Hour of Sharing, we accompany the refugee and stand in solidarity with the distressed.  Our above and beyond gifts and sacrificial offerings through OGHS, minister to people through the network of partnerships we have with our Christian Baptist brothers and sisters all around the globe.  Please prayerfully consider what God is calling you to give to this offering.  OGHS Sunday is June 12, but if you know you will be away on the 12, you can give this Sunday as well.

Finally, whether it’s raining or shining on Sunday we will celebrate our All Church Picnic after worship.  If the sun is shining, we will head over to Hoopes Park.  If it’s raining, we’ll stay inside and gather in Lowry Hall.  Either way, we’ll enjoy the food and the fellowship around the table.

See you on Sunday,

Pastor Dave
